Yeah. You can barely see the top. It is mostly hidden behind the Southwestern Life Building which was completed in 1913 and demolished in 1972: http://i.imgur.com/jNvUIxO.png

I’m thinking this photo was made from the Medical Arts Building, and probably with a telephoto lens. Other thoughts?

It is almost certainly from the Medical Arts Building. Here is one labeled as such at the SMU digital collections: http://digitalcollections.smu.edu/cdm/singleitem/collection/mav/id/60/rec/11
Without knowing if this is a full frame image and what the original frame size is, it is impossible to know if it was taken with a telephoto lens.
