As always, thank you for your great posts. The amazing thing about this one is that the fancy brickwork (and the general layout of the facade) remain exactly per the fanciful postcard. Obviously a loading ramp was added in front at some point, perhaps to unload and load those trucks full of molested books from various public libraries…

Hi Paula, I found this blog post by chance and really enjoyed reading it! I just discovered a tiny garden nursery called Arcadia and then became interested in Arcadia itself. Not much online about the history of Arcadia, but I found your post 🙂 such a shame no one took care of that darling art deco bookbindery building 😦
