There use to be stables near Kiest Park back in the 50’s and you could ride your rented horse at the park. As I got older, I thought that was a great idea for the first 2 or 3 dates with a lady. Mickey

Where was City Park. I grew up in Dallas but have been gone since 1964. I do not remember anything being called City Park

My grandfather’s grandparents lived on Ervay across from City Part from about 1900 to after 1912 and he spent some time at the City Park School. I have his postcard collection from about the same period and was chuffed to find several full color postcards of City Park and Swiss Ave.. There was also one called “Galveston in the Future” which looks like something out of Jules Verne. Ironically, when I went to Walnut Hill Elementary in the 50’s we had a gift drive every Christmas for the “unfortunate” children at City Park School.
