The Dallas Times Herald building was located at 1101 Pacific Ave., bounded by Pacific, Griffin, and Patterson. The building was demolished in 1993 and replaced by a parking lot.

It reminds me of nothing so much as what Wikipedia calls the “old Dallas central library” when it was new and I was easily impressed. They even have a view of the reading room that’s a good match for the Haskins photo in a ghostly sort of way.

You’ll hate me for this, because if you grew up in Dallas, you’ll remember the jingle that accompanied this radio/TV add for the Herald’s classified section…and now you won’t get it out of your head.
“748-1414, 748-1414, call the Dallas Times Herald classifieds at 748-1414. We are the pages more people are turning to.”
