What do Stetson-wearing Texans enjoy drinking more than sarsaparilla? Coca-Cola, of course!

This ad led me to discover that the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Dallas set up a working mini-bottling plant in Fair Park during the Texas Centennial. The exhibit was in the Varied Industries Building and produced about 100 bottles a minute, destined to supply the concession stands around the park.

The “Varied Industries Building” apparently burned down in 1942 and was replaced in 1947 by the Automobile Building.
