Based only on the two automobiles, I’d say it is earlier: 55-56, 57 at the latest.

The date was from the Dallas Morning News. I saw a 1959 something-or-other panel van that looked like the one in the picture, and I found only one listing for the Johnny Miranda store on Elm Street, and that was in the 1960 directory. I’m not sure exactly when the photograph was taken, but “circa 1960” seems like it’s probably close enough.

The car just behind the cop is a Ford sedan delivery, 1955 or ’56 model, and while I can’t see anything among the few autos in the pic later than a ’57 (I think) model prudence dictates, to me at least, the date “about 1958” or even just “late 1950s”

The shoe store was at 1715 Live oak till 1973 when the bbq store next door burned the entire block
